The Real Deadwood: 1877

DeadwoodSpecials

This is a 21-minute look at the real Deadwood, around the time the show is set, including the arrival of the telegraph and George R. Hearst. It’s a great continuation of the featurette on the same topic from the first set, as it presents a concise history of the town. Many local historians and experts, as well as David Milch and cast members, participate in interviews. The featurette is loaded with old photos, clips of the show to highlight certain historical points and even a look at a current archaeological digs in the real Deadwood.
