Box Office: Did Tammy Overtake Transformers?

Transformers: Age of Extinction held on to the top spot at the box office over the holiday weekend, despite experiencing a 63 percent dropoff in its second week, Box Office Mojo reports. The fourth film in theTransformers franchise took in $36.4 million, which was enough to top the new film Tammy. The road trip comedy starring Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon finished in second place with $21.1 million in its debut weekend.
