If the 10-episode prequel series does move forward, the plan is to reunite most of the original cast, who would continue to play high schoolers despite the fact most of them are now in their 40s. Since much of the cast is currently busy with other projects, the plan would be to take a cue from Arrested Development‘s fourth season and not include every character in every episode. This would allow the actors to film their scenes in only a matter of days.
The 2001 cult classic, from David Wain and Michael Showalter, has long been rumored to return with a sequel or prequel film, but never a series. A few years ago, Wain revealed that he had been working on a script for a follow-up movie.
